I was asked a very interesting question today at one of my favorite groups (The Professional Women’s Network of Greensboro) regarding Wedding Planning. The question was “Who is the ideal couple for a planner other than having all the money necessary and saying “yes” to everything?” What a great question! Well, here are my thoughts.
Every Wedding Planner/Designer is different. She/He as they evolve in the business will learn more about who they are as a person and what they can do best. Questions that begin to rise up in your mind and from others tend to be the following. What styles do I like best? Elegant, Modern, Traditional, Whimsical, Contemporary, Chic, etc. Do I like plan more, create more, or do both? Do I think outside of the box? What do I envision for weddings? What kind of personality do I have and how does my personality work with others? Do I like the full planning aspect, wedding day only, or both? Am I more comfortable working on the DIY side with a Brides? Am I crafty? There are many more questions that arrive over time that begin to shape who you are and your selections. I have found for me that it really has been a discovery process and continues to evolve. I will share that the common thread of my Brides is that they like what they see in the body of work, know that I am there for them, and will do everything in my power to make their day excellent.
Well, I’m sure the question in your minds is who is my ideal Bride. I actually have identified 5 types of ideal Brides I work with often. I always know them instantly! : ) That’s a whole different blog to share.
Thank you PWN of Greensboro for asking the questions!
