January 22, 2018
Have you been wondering what the wedding trends are for 2018? Though my creative light is based on my Client as my Muse… : ) I thought it would be interesting to look back at some data I’ve captured from several consultations from potential 2018 Brides and current booked Brides to share some insight on trending wedding details for 2018. Here we go! *Not in any particular order!
{1} Unique Venues
Brides continue to look for venues that fit their wedding style and theme to ensure there is a cohesive style flow for their special day.
{2} Gold Metallic & Rose Gold
I continue to see gold accents and rose gold as a favorite. It was pretty strong in 2017 and looks to continue in 2018 as a beautiful and romantic accent to a Brides Day. Side note: And yes, blush finds it way into this color theme quite often. It still does in 2018. : )
{3} Midnight Blue. Navy. Royal Blue.
The blues continue to make its presence known. I’ve seen the color quite often in 2017 and looks likes it’s going to have its place in 2018.
{4} Fun
Guests experience means alot to Brides these days. To the DJ’s in the wedding world, Brides and Grooms want their guests to have a wonderful time dancing the night away! I would say it’s really important to have those DJ meetings to make sure you are on the same page of thought.
{5} Entertainment
More and more Brides are looking for ways to entertain their guests especially during the cocktail hour. Whether its a photo-booth, live band, caricaturist, performing artist, and more. The rise for ideas to entertain guests continues to grow. Side note on the photo-booth…I’m seeing more request for the back drop style with fun unique props as a request.
{6} Great Food
The menu is still of importance to couples. Whether it’s unique appetizers during cocktail hour or simply just great tasting food, Brides, Grooms, and Parents have their attention focused on great tasting food for their guests. For some after parties, I’m still seeing request for the special late night snack option as well.
{7} Creative Dessert Bars
I’m definitely noticing the expansion of the dessert bars. The variety of options keep growing and styling is really important to the over visual effects for an amazing presentation.
{8} The WOW Factor
For the last several years, I’ve found this phrase interesting because this means something different to each Bride. As a Planner/Creative, we typically ask lots of detail questions to understand how each Bride defines the WOW factor. Most of the time, each Bride is referring to the overall design elements of their wedding. It can be from the back drop design of the ceremony, to the lush style arrangements, ceiling treatments is a growing trend, lots of glitz and glam elements, lounge furniture, sweetheart table design, massive cake creations, an amazing wedding party feast table design, floral walls, and so much more. For 2018, I can only dream of what we will see next! : )
Well, I’m sure there are many other interesting trends in the wedding world for 2018! However, the desire is always to make your wedding fit your dreams and design ideas! Your wedding should always be a reflection and fusion of who your are as a couple and your style that connects with your soul! Remember, Pinterest for for inspiration not duplication! Make it your own!
Happy Planning! xoxo
