One of the common challenges I continue to see in regards to Wedding Reply/RSVP Cards is the lack of response from family and friends. Sometimes we may be thinking “I’ll send it.” Other times we may be thinking “She knows I’m coming.” Often guest may forget about it all together. Receiving and Not Receiving reply cards do have a major impact on the Wedding.
5 RSVP Blunders to a Wedding
- Caterers normally require a final count 3-7 days prior to the wedding. The last count determines whether the final balance goes up or down.
- Table Set up is impacted. We have to determine if additional tables and chairs are needed or a reduction of seating.
- Rentals – Additional linens, chair covers, sashes, napkins, etc. may or may not be needed. Impacts the budget.
- Centerpiece count could go up or down. This can add to the cost.
- Guest List – Some wedding reception may have place cards for guest. Your name may not be on the guest list and/or you may not have a place card with your name on it. That can cause you to miss out on the reception celebration.
The moral to the story for us all is to be courteous and help the Bride and Groom with their bottom line, by responding whether you plan to attend or not able to attend. They will greatly appreciate receiving the response!
